Forty years of building safety training to the standard that governs it just got a peer review. Danatec has now won the same three Readers’ Choice categories two years in a row. In-Class Safety Training, WHMIS Training, and Fall Protection Training, first at Canadian Occupational Safety’s 10th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Safety Suppliers in 2025, and again at the 11th Annual awards this year.
Canadian Occupational Safety put a confidential ballot in front of occupational health and safety professionals across the country between May 11 and June 5, 2026, and asked them who actually delivers. Three separate categories landing on the same supplier isn’t a coincidence. It’s what happens when the same standard runs through every format you offer.
One standard, three proof points
Danatec’s whole approach is built on a bet: a course is only as good as the standard it’s built to, and a certificate only holds up if the training behind it does too. This year, that bet paid off three times over.
Take WHMIS. There’s no shortage of WHMIS options on the market, and companies and workers keep coming back to ours anyway. That’s not because the certificate is easier to get. It’s because training that actually makes a difference requires learners to understand the real risk in their work, not just complete a module. Updated to the 2025 amendments to the Hazardous Products Regulations, our program goes deep into what happens when hazardous materials aren’t handled right, situations like this occur in real workplaces every year. That’s the kind of education that gets people home to their families safely.
Fall Protection works the same way. Competency, not completion, is the whole design. Our online courses are available Canada-wide and aligned to provincial OHS requirements, and the tools built around them help employers document and assess a worker’s competency in working safely at height, not just confirm who sat through a session.
And In-Class Safety Training proves the standard travels. Delivery has been primarily virtual over the past year, with in-person sessions also run from our Edmonton head office in 2025. Winning this category means the people judging it weren’t checking a box. They were evaluating delivery itself, whether that session happened in a room or on a screen, and it held up either way.
Fleet Safety International, our sister brand under We Know Training, was also named a 2026 Readers’ Choice Award winner this year, taking the Safe Driving Training category for the second year in a row. All of FSI’s driver training, from online courses to in-vehicle instruction, can be purchased through Danatec. If your team’s training covers everything except the people driving for you, that’s an easy gap to close.

“This category is decided by the people sitting in the room,” says Addy Ashlee, Head Safety Trainer and Content Manager at Danatec, who leads much of the instructor-led work behind the In-Class Safety Training win. “When safety professionals recognize our in-class training, it confirms that the effort behind it goes beyond checking a box. Our instructors work every day to create an environment where learners feel comfortable, ask questions, and leave able to apply what they have learned. This recognition is a direct reflection of that work.”
Joey Motokado, Director of Market Development at Danatec, sees the three wins together as proof of something broader. “Winning in three categories tells us our approach is working across the board, not just in one channel,” Motokado says. “Whether a team trains online or with one of our instructors in a virtual classroom, they’re getting high-quality training and leaving with the confidence to do their job. That consistency is what these results reflect.”
What it means when you’re the one buying
A vote from safety professionals is a different kind of signal than a marketing claim. It tells you three things.
Compliance confidence, first. The people rating these categories are the same ones who need training to hold up under audit, at renewal, and when a regulator asks questions. Their vote is a peer check, not ours.
Delivery flexibility, second. Whether your team needs instructor-led training, self-paced online courses, or a mix depending on the role and the site, that flexibility is part of what earned recognition this year.
Less administrative load, third. One platform to assign, track, and manage completions and expirations across your team means fewer gaps between what’s required and what’s actually done.
None of that carries weight on its own. Forty years in this business and 188 courses built to the standard or regulation that governs each one is just a claim until someone outside the building says it holds up. This year, the people who use this training said it three times.
