WHMIS.ca Wins Readers’ Choice Award! Here’s Why That Matters to Us

We’re proud to share that WHMIS.ca has been named one of the winners in Canadian Occupational Safety’s 10th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards for 2025.

What makes this recognition extra special? It came straight from you—the safety managers, industry pros, and learners who take our training courses and use our platform every day to stay safe at work. And once again, WHMIS.ca stood out as a reliable, easy-to-use, and compliant solution for WHMIS training.

“This award reflects the trust our clients have in us,” says Joey Motokado, Director of Market Development at Danatec, powered by We Know Training. “We know that safety managers and learners count on us for training that’s accurate, accessible, and usable in the real world. Updating WHMIS.ca to reflect the updated WHMIS regulations was a top priority, and we’re proud to lead the industry with content that’s current and credible.”

WHMIS.ca has long been a go-to destination for accessible WHMIS certification that’s fully compliant with the latest legislation. That includes the 2023 updates to the Hazardous Products Regulations from Health Canada. The updates included new rules for classifying hazards, labelling, and SDS requirements. From oil and gas sites to construction crews, thousands of workplaces trust us to get their people certified properly.

This recognition reinforces the hard work from our team and our continued focus on:

  • Keeping content current and compliant
  • Making safety training straightforward for individuals and organizations
  • Making training management easier to allow you to become more successful through an innovative platform

To everyone who voted—thank you. Your trust drives us to keep raising the standard for digital safety training in Canada.

What Do I Need to Know About WHMIS 2025?

Amendments made to Canada’s Hazardous Products Regulations in 2023 (some are calling the WHMIS 2025 standard) include:

  • Improved clarity and precision for certain provisions
  • New information elements required on safety data sheets
  • Adoption of a new physical hazard class (Chemicals Under Pressure)
  • Adoption of a new hazard category for non-flammable aerosols and new subcategories for flammable gases

These updates align Canadian rules more closely with the UN’s Globally Harmonized System (GHS), which affects how we classify and label hazardous products. Our WHMIS training is already updated to meet these new requirements to help you remain compliant.
