Introducing New ESTS 2024 Training for Electrical Workers in Canada

Danatec is thrilled to unveil the newly rebuilt Electrical Safety Training System (ESTS) Electrical Worker 2024 – Canada, Arc Flash, & Shock online training program! Developed in collaboration with the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA), the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC), and the Electrical Industry Education Trust Fund of Alberta (EITCA), this program is designed for workers engaging in energized electrical work and incorporates the updates from the CSA Z462-24 Workplace Electrical Safety Standard.

Enhanced Learning Experience:
This revamped program offers an enhanced learning experience, ensuring alignment with industry standards and technological advancements in electrical safety. The course content has been meticulously reviewed and updated to include the latest revisions to the CSA Z462-24 Workplace Electrical Safety Standard, as well as relevant industry trends.

Improved 3D Videos:
One notable enhancement is the complete overhaul of all 3D videos, now featuring higher standards of clarity and detail. Additionally, the content and modules have been reorganized to eliminate redundancies and streamline the learning process.

Interactive Learning:
The new format empowers learners with more autonomy to progress at their own pace. It integrates interactive elements and engagement opportunities, transitioning from passive to active learning methodologies. This shift aims to enhance understanding and retention of course concepts, providing a dynamic and engaging learning experience.

Adjustments to Meet CSA Z462-24 Standard:
To comply with the CSA Z462-24 Workplace Electrical Safety Standard, several content adjustments have been made:

  • Explanation of disparities between NFPA 70E and CSA Z462 standards.
  • Revision of references from “750 V or less” to “1000 V or less” in line with updated low voltage definitions.
  • Inclusion of new material on arc blast as a function of containment.
  • Comprehensive coverage of arc blast mechanisms.
  • Incorporation of missing exemptions for testing to ensure de-energized conditions.
  • Visual media illustrating the application of escape traps.
  • Identification of three distinct arc rating types, introducing ARLim (Arc Rating Limit) ratings.
  • Emphasis on human performance in workplace electrical safety, addressing human error as a prevalent factor in electrical incidents.
  • Update of arc flash PPE selection table methodology and application guidance.
  • Additional content on job-safety planning for electrical work projects.
  • Enhancement of arc blast video demonstration for a more realistic depiction of blast energy.

With these updates, Danatec’s ESTS Electrical Worker 2024 training program sets a new standard in online electrical safety training, ensuring workers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to work safely in energized environments. Stay tuned for more updates and enroll today to experience the difference!
